The famous singer songwriter Silvio Rodríguez offered last 15th of January a special concert at the prison of Boniato, about 10 kilometers to the north of the center of the city.

The news was given by Andrés Sánchez, responsible of the Department of Public Relations of the Provincial Direction of Culture, to the specialized press.

Sánchez remembered that Silvio Rodríguez as deputy to the Cuban Parliament, launched the proposal that famous art personalities take their music and other artistic and intellectual expressions to the correctional centers that are no more only prison in Cuba to become places where the man are helped to their full reintegration into society, mainly using the culture.

In Santiago de Cuba, another Cuban figure, the theatre actor Reynaldo López is carrying out a similar idea, due to which it has been consolidate in this south eastern area of the country a literary, dance, musical and theatre movement among the penitentiary population.

The Directions of Culture in the Cuban territories are directly attending the artistic - cultural work in these centers.
