Some twenty works were selected best Cuban video clips in different categories by the jury of the annual Premios Lucas Awards ceremony which took place last Monday evening at the Casa de la Musica in Miramar, Havana.

Best video clip of the year was "Apagon total" (Total Blackout) by the "Eddy K" band, directed by several times Lucas winner Bilko Cuervo, who also got the prize for Best Reggaeton.

Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco band walked away with two prizes, one for best band video clip and a second for best popular dance music with their video clip "Sabrosona", directed by Santana.

Lucas awarded Diana as best novel artist and best woman's video clip for her work "Musica de fondo", directed by young prizewinning movie maker Pavel Giroud.

Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Gerardo Alfonso won the Lucas for best men's video clip with his work "Revolver", directed by Alejandro Gil.

The group Alma from eastern Holguin province, debuting in the Lucas this year, was granted the Lucas award for best traditional music video clip for "Que tiene esa mujer."

Singer-director X Alfonso climbed on the stage again this year with his video clip Domino, which won the prizes for best director and best Hip Hop clip.

Best pop rock ballad was the new version of "Hotel California" by Vocal Sampling directed by Ian Padron; while "Havana Travel" by Omara and Arnaldo, directed by Santana, got the Lucas for best trova song.

Still more awards were granted in the gala of Cuban video clips, all of them revealing the growing improvement of the audio visual category motivated by the now ten year old Premios Lucas.
