The workers of the Electric Company and constructors from the eastern provinces of Las Tunas and Holguín intend to conclude at the end of December a battery with capacity to generate 6.6 megawatts daily, in greeting to the 49 years of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution next January 1st.

The work is carried out near Antonio Guiteras sugar mill, with a cost of about 22 million Cuban Convertible Pesos. The construction is at 42 percent and once concluded will contribute to the National Energy System with 20.4 megawatts.

The complex counts on three batteries for energy generation. Its 12 motors are very thrifty and are not polluting. The 85 percent of the resources have arrived just in time and the contruction is executed by the contingent Victoria de Girón, of this city, and a brigade from the neighboring province of Holguín.

The first of those batteries, in phase of technological assembly must be concluded as it is foreseen, as well as the civil works in execution, such as the electric lines and the energy substation.

The workers made their commitment in front of the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party, Jorge Cuevas Ramos, who received information about the diversity of use of this electric complex, which will be integrated to the National Energy System and can only give service to the municipalities of Jesus Menéndez and Puerto Padre, in case of an emergency.

Cuevas greeted everybody for the feverish constructive activity that he observed and for the right assembly of the equipments. He told the workers he trust that they will know how to fulfill their commitment in greeting to the new anniversary of the revolutionary victory back in 1959.
