Movimiento No Alineados
Cuba's work as present leader of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement focuses on revitalizing the group, according to its ten principles of foundation.

Since September 2006, when the 14th NAM Summit was held in Havana, the Island has been working to boost and develop the decisions signed in the meeting's final document, Granma daily noted on Wednesday, highlighting the significant scope and importance gained by NAM Coordination Bureau decisions.

In the opening ceremony of the NAM Ministerial Meeting in New York in September 2006, Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque stressed the effective coordination of viewpoints among the member countries and results of joint defense of positions.

He said the presidency would intensify actions that include the international legal context against all forms of intolerance, which are reviving with overwhelming force.

Granma used as an example the 118 NAM member states that demanded at the UN that the United States end the economic, trade and financial blockade imposed on Cuba for almost 50 years.
