An exhibition about the personal world of the deceased film maker Tomás Gutiérrez Alea (Titón), made by paintings and drawings he made himself will be open to the public next 16 of November at the Arts Museum of this capital.
Under the title, "Titón, más allá del cine" ("Titón, far beyond the cinema"), the exhibition will collect photos, personal objects, a part of his dressing and properties used in his most important movies, the posters of all his movies and the awards he received during his career, among other pieces.
At the opening of the exhibition will be made a performance made by over 40 artists who took part in his movies. The exhibition will allow a closer approach to the creative universe of who is considered one of the most important filmmakers of the Cuban and Latin American cinematography.
Titon left behind a number of projects not yet made. His movie Memorias del Subdesarrollo (Memories of Underdevelopment) was chosen by international critic as one of the 100 movies of all the times. The exhibition will be opened until next 6 of December and in parallel there will be a movie season.
