Andy Montañez to record album with cuban Pancho Amat
Puerto Rican salsa singer Andy Montañez indicated his willingness to record an album with outstanding Cuban musician Pancho Amat and his group Cabildo del Son.

Montañez, who was a special invited artist at the Ibero American Culture Festival in the Cuban eastern province of Holguin, told the press that working with Amat and his band is one his most immediate projects.

The Puerto Rican artist was born on May 7, 1942 in the capital San Juan. He has recorded over a hundred albums and feels great admiration for Cuban music.

Montañez, who along with Cuban singer song-writer Pablo Milanés won the Grammy Latino 2006 Award for their album "AM/PM Lineas Paralelas" gave a special concert in Holguin with local band Tainos de Mayari.

The Ibero American Culture Festival was attended by over a hundred artists from Europe and Latin America who participated in activities related to cinema, music, theater, dance, handicrafts and painting.

The cultural festival commemorated Christopher Columbus' landing on the northern coast of Holguin on October 27, 1492.
