Costa Rica secured their place in the final round of the 2008 CONCACAF Womens Olympic Qualification after eliminating Nicaragua in the Central American Second Round on an aggregate score of 9:0 over the weekend.

The two Caribbean qualifiers will come from a quadrangular group consisting of Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Trinidad & Tobago that will take place later this year at a venue to be determined.

After winning the first game 3:0 last week, Kandy Mendoza scored twice to lead Costa Rica in the 6:0 victory over visiting Nicaragua in the return-leg at the Estadio Nacional in San José on Saturday.

Costa Rica will now compete in the six-team 2008 CONCACAF Womens Olympic Qualification Final Round joining two Caribbean qualifiers, Canada, Mexico and USA, where two teams will qualify to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
