FUNDACINE invites filmmakers to participate

The Central American audiovisual will be the leading character of a new portal under construction in Internet to be launched next November. This project, organized by FUNDACINE, is the first initiative of this kind from the sector.

The Portal of the Central American Audiovisual will become an interactive space including news, interviews to personalities, relevant information for the different specialists, such as data from financing sources, academic articles current information on technology, discussion and debate sections, as well a film catalogue plus a personal guide to get in contact with Central American directors and producers.

For the organizers, the Portal is created with the aim of contributing to spread and viewing the Central American production, as well as to facilitate the opening of new financing, co-production and distribution opportunities, in and out of the geographical area.

"Our aim is the Portal to become the most important information media for the Audiovisual Central America, to become a centre of visual meeting among each and every actor, producer and sector interested on regional cinema, TV and new technologies Besides, it will be a collective effort to be carried out by everyone, because it will be continually enriched with colllaboration from its own users". FUNDACINE, foundation for audiovisual development is a non-profitable private organization, whose aim is to support the Central American and Caribbean audiovisual, housed in Costa Rica . Nowadays its main project is CINERGIA, Fund for Fostering the Central American and Caribbean Audiovisual, which has distributed an amount close to half million U.S. Dollars, among audiovisual regional projects, scholarships and workshops along the latest three years.
