Chucho eulogizes austrian pianist Joe Zawinul

Cuban media headlined the bonds between Austrian jazz musician Joe Zawinul, who died of cancer, and Cuban piano player Chucho Valdes.
Zawinul, 75, was the founder of the Weather Report band, and he entered the Cuban culture forever with Chucho Valdes, according to Granma daily.
Valdes paid homage to him with the musical piece "Zawinul mambo", included in one of his albums.
Commentator Pedro de la Hoz recalled how Chucho met Zawinul in a festival in Martinique, when he told the Cuban musician: "hey, you have to play the piano, you owe us that." That encouraged Chucho, "it has been a stimulus since the mid 90s until today."
The last meeting between these artists was in June on the beaches of Tenerife, Spain, sharing the stage in a jazz festival.
