Dayron Robles of Cuba set a meeting record in the first track race of the night on Tuesday (September 11) at the Gugl-Meeting in Austria.

Robles finished ahead of Serhiy Demydyuk of the Ukraine (13.32) and David Oliver (13.40) of the USA.

Marc Burns of Trinidad won the men's 100m, with Slovakian Matic Osovnikar in second (10.34) and Darvis Patton of the U.S.A. (10.36) in third place.

On Sunday (September 9) in Rieti, Italy Burns was one of those runners blown away by Asafa Powell's record breaking 9.74 second performance.

The women's 200m saw Lashauntea Moore of the United States finish in first place with a time of 23.19 ahead of Sheri-Ann Brooks of Jamaica (23.40) in second and Britain Joyce Maduaka in third (23.58).

In the men's pole vault competition Tim Lobinger of Germany appeared to hold the bar when attempting a height of 5m70 but was given a white flag by the judges. The vault of 5m70 was good enough to win the event for the German.
