Cuba's Rio golds came from Yandro Quintana in the 60kg category, Geandry Grazon in 66kg, Ivan Fundora in 74kg, Michel Batista in 96kg and Alexis Rodriguez in 120 kg. Andy Moreno won silver in the 55kg category and Roilandy Zuniga won bronze in the 84kg category.

Delgado said he had medals hopes for Quintana, Garzon, Rodriguez, and Batista, who won bronze in the 2007 Guanzhou World Championships.

The team's main goal was to qualify for Beijing. Top eight in each category will do so. While there are also qualification chances in the United States and Europe, "we want to qualify now", he said.
