The national information network of the Community Computer Centres was inaugurated Saturday at the Computer Palace in the Cuban town of Pinar del Rio. The purpose of the network is to provide data to digital libraries in each province and to share information about new technologies.
Raul Van Troi Navarro, national director of the Community Computer Center, said that this network must become an observatory with the freshest news about computer science, viruses attacking Cuban computers, information on the latest models of computers, the development of free software, and to put those details on community computer center websites with the objective of reaching the greatest number of people who needs this.
«We have to win in the management of information, to make that service faster to the public, since searching on the Internet becomes thorny for those who are not acquainted with it and can take a lot of time, said Van Troi Navarro.
