The number 247 of Casa de las Amèricas magazine opens with the speech delivered by Ricardo Alarcón de Quesada, President of the Cuban Parlament, on the commemorative session honouring Raul Roa Centennial. This publishing pays a tribute to the Foreign Minister of Dignity through testimonies by friends and collaborators, and also includes a poem by Cintio Vitier dedicated to him.

This new issue was recently launched in the Casa de las Américas (Third and G Avenue , Vedado). It is illustrated with the winners words from the Ninth Engraving Contest "La Joven Estampa" and it also includes the section «Hechos/Ideas» which compiles texts by Rita Maeseneer ( Saberes y sabores de Pedro Mártir de Anglería ), Nara Araújo ( Más allá de la vigilia para llegar al sueño ) and Hugo Niño ( Ursúa: la convicción del relato ).

«Letras» begins with poems by Carlos Germán Belli and ends with: " Pegaron mis párpados ", first chapter of "Catalina", unpublished novel by Mario Coyula: amidst texts by: Poli Délano, Keith Ellis, Mairym Cruz-Bernal, Cristina Rivera Garza, Damaris Calderón and León Gil.

In its section « Páginas salvadas », introduction by Zaida Capote, letters to Enrique José Varona by other three great intellectuals from Our America: José Enrique Rodó, Pedro Henríquez Ureña and Alfonso Reyes.

In « Notas » there are the article " El simposio de los expulsados: literatura, representación y poder en la era de la globalización ", by the Mexican essayist and researcher Víctor Barrera Enderle; " A treinta años de la desaparición de Rodolfo Walsh ", participation by Lilia Ferreyra, journalist and Publisher, and Walsh widow, in a round table held in the Cuba 2007, International Book Fair and " Martínez Estrada: de Lugones a Martí ", Magisterial lecture by David Viñas delivered the same event..
