Bonachela, who is acknowledged as one of the most innovative choreographers in Europe, said it was a privilege for him to have the opportunity of working with the Cuban dancers.
The Spanish artist came to Cuba with an exchange project between the Cuban Contemporary Dance Company and the British Council. He initially wanted to stage a short piece, but the high technical level of the dancers made him change his mind and stage a large piece.
Bonachela was born in Barcelona, but he works in London. He has done choreographies for the Rambert Dance Company, for outstanding pop figures such as Kylie Minogue, and for the Hugo Boss fashion house.
