La Edad de la Peseta, Cuba film for Goya and Oscar Awards

Directed by young Cuban filmmaker Pavel Giraud, the film "La Edad de la Peseta" (The Silly Age), one of the most awarded movies in 2006 and 2007, is the island's proposal for the Goya and Oscar Awards.

The Cuban Institute of Art and Film Industries chose that film, for its values and that it has been favorably received in festivals of Toronto, Canada, Havana, Cartagena, and San Francisco, among others.

According to information from the Cuban cinema website, "La Edad de la Peseta," co-produced by Spain and Venezuela, will be included in the category for the best Ibero-American motion picture in the Goya Award, while in case of the Oscar, it would be for Best Foreign Language Film.
