XI World Championship in Athletics: patience for a Cuban Medal
After hard training, the XI World Championship in Athletics begins its history in the Japanese city of Osaka. For the opening day it has been reserved, besides a showy opening ceremony, the delivery of the first three titles in competition.
Hence, the honor of winning the first gold medal will go to the best marathon runner of the event, and afterwards the winners of the shot put for men and the 10000 meters for women, modalities in which the Cuban delegation didn't registered any of their more than 30 contestants.
This year's World Championships in Athletics has made history with a new record of 203 participating countries, and over 2000 athletes will be competing intensely for the next 9 days.
