Professionals from 22 Countries to Urbanism Convention
At least a hundred professionals of 22 countries will attend the II International Convention on Territorial and Urbanism Classification that will hold session at the Conventions Palace of Havana next October.

Mirta Hernandez, Vice-president of the Institute of Physical Planning (IPF) informed that in the list of those who confirmed their attendance appear important personalities from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Canada, Chile, Spain, Mexico, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and Switzerland.

She added that the encounter is scheduled from October 30 to November 2, with the purpose of exchanging experiences in the theory and practice of territorial classification and urbanism as well as their contribution to the economic, social, environmental, and cultural development.

She indicated that they will also focus on the results in the application of the technical, economic, administrative and legal instruments associated to the specialty and about the general requirements for their improvement.

One of the core themes in the agenda is the promotion of experiences for the development of human settlements, especially the cutback of poverty in the habitat, a fine urban administration, territorial equity, and social justice.

Representations from the Division of Sustainable Development and Human Settlements of the Economic Commission for Latin America and The Caribbean (ECLAC), of the UN-HABITAT will participate as guests in the encounter.

The list of attendants to this II International Convention on Territorial Classification and Urbanism includes staff boards of similar institutions, mayors, government officials and local actors, professors and researchers. The first encounter of this nature held sessions in 2005 in the National Hotel of Cuba.
