The Cuban squad ratified its condition of best team of the championship in which the classification beat concluded as unbeaten, with eight victories, while its rivals fell in four opportunities, two of them before the Cuban team.

The match against Taipei stayed without runs until the lower part of the 4th inning, when the second Cuban baseman Hector Olivera reached the second base after connecting an inoffensive fly in which right fielder Chan Chih-Yao made an error.

Olivera reached the third base thanks to a hit by Alfredo Despaigne and he scored soon after by a hit to the left field by Yosvani Peraza.

The second run of Cuba also arrived in the legs of Olivera in the 6th inning.

Yadel Marti was the winning pitcher and left-handed pitcher Yuliesky Gonzalez saved the match.
