Meeting at the social workers school in Cojimar

A meeting of the first graduates from the Social Workers Program and those who helped them along the path to earn their diplomas will be held next Thursday and Friday at the School of Social Workers in Cojimar.

Accroding to Yusimi Fernandez Martinez, member of the organizing commission of the meeting of graduates, this is the right moment for the 358 graduates in humanities to recall the process of transition that their lives went through; as they grew up through the program, the program grew with them.

To reflect on where perseverance can take young people, they chose to met at the same school where President Fidel Castro created the program in 2000.

The new professionals will debate about their future challenges and the need to continue performing useful tasks along with their personal upgrading.

The experiences of the first group of « healers of the soul », as President Castro called them, will be feedback for a program that has touched on the most sensitive problems in society since its beginning.

The first social workers have now graduated, majoring in Social Communication, Law, Information Sciences, Sociology and History. These young people have more work to do. That is the challenge of the reunion.
