Cuban cyclist gets gold at World Juniors
Cuban Iraida Garcia took the gold at the World Junior Cycling Championship underway at the Mexican locality of Aguascalientes.
Garcia got her victory in the scratch modality after covering a seven-and-half-kilometer race. The Cuban champ was followed by Italian Barbara Guarisshi (silver) and German Anna Mosbach (bronze).

Iraida Garcia (18) is from central Matanzas province and she was the winner of the individual race during the 3rd Olympics of Cuban Sports, as well as at the 2nd Games of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA). She also got two golds at the recently held Pan-American Juniors in Colombia.

The Cuban team at the Mexican competition also includes cyclists Lizandra Ramirez and Yurisleidys Carrion.
