 Nacional de Cuba Hotel
The opening of the Nacional Hotel took place on December 30, 1930 and the implementation of the work was in the hands of the American companies Mc Kim, Mead & White and Purdy Henderson Co.

One of the first characteristics in its favor is the location, over a hill across from the sea, just in front of the Havana Malecon and the central area of Vedado. The emblematic image of the Morro Castle is seen from its chambers.

During the pirate harassment of the 16th Century, the Spanish authorities positioned there the battery of Santa Clara where alderman Don Luis Aguiar took control of the English vessels in the attack to Havana in the year 1762 and for this reason; one of the most luxurious restaurants of the hotel has his name. The Ordoñez, one of the greatest cannons is still kept in the gardens of this facility.

The gardens and the swimming pool area have galleries that evoke the Spanish monastic cloisters. The main floor resembles an old medieval church and the roof beams look like an ancient Catalan monastery together with suggestive Arab invocations that represent the architectonical treasure of this hotel. The elegant Apartment of the Republic with its eclectic style destined for guests of the Cuban government and the majestic Presidential Suite has welcomed outstanding figures like Maria Félix, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, Jorge Negrete, Alexander Fleming, Ava Gardner, and Winston Churchill among others.

The excellent tourist service with the highest qualified professionals and the luxury at an international level together with its history make the Nacional de Cuba Hotel a place to spend an unforgettable stay in the island.
