Cubas national baseball team won 3-1 on Friday morning in the final game of the 15th Pan American Games. Cuba has won ten straight Pan Am tournaments since Cali 1971, while the US has finished second eight times after having won in Winnipeg 1967.Both teams won their semifinal games on Wednesday as Cuba shutout Nicaragua 4-0 and the US squeaked by Mexico 2-1.

Cubas Ariel Palma and Pedro Luis Lazo were the pitchers used by Manager Rey Vicente Anglada.

Although the bad conditions of the playing field, cuban players worked hardly to obtain the 21th gold medal of the cuban delegation.
