Cuba vs. the United States in Rotterdam Competition
Cuba will participate in the tough Rotterdams competition during the first two weeks of August. There it will play against the same US baseball team that is ready to compete in the 2007 Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro, as well vie against the national teams of Taipei, the Netherlands and Japan.

The Cuban team members participating in this competition are, in the main, players who could not make the team selected for the Pan-Am Games.

National Stadium Director Luis Carton gave us the roster for the second Cuban team that will face international competitions in 2007 and is already training in Havanas Latin American Stadium.

The list is formed by receptors Osvaldo Arias, Yosvany Peraza and Yeniet Bello, as well as infielders Jose J. Ruiz, Hector Olivera, Alexander Ayala, Rudy Reyes, Roberquis Videaux and Donald Duarte.

The outfielder roster includes Alfredo Despaigne, Alexei Bell, Yasser Gomez, Carlos Tabares and Reutilio Hurtado. The pitchers of the team are Ciro S. Licea, Yovany Aragon, Yolexis Ulacia, Alberto Bicet, Arleys Sanchez, Yadel Marti, Vicyohandry Odelin, Yulieski Gonzalez, Vladimir Baños and Vladimir Perez.

Victor Mesa is the coach of the team, accompanied by assistants Luis Jova and Alexander Ramos. Omar Linares and Jose L. Aleman will work as trainers.

ALL IN ONE

In Rotterdam, there will be a two-round program, with eight presentations for each team. At the end of this phase, the first and second places will play for the title in an additional game.
