Cuba won in men's and women's beach volleyball

RIO DE JANEIRO, July 17 - The current world champions, Brazilian Ricardo and Emanuel had a lucky start in the Beach Volleyball games. This Tuesday, they played in Pool A and defeated Colombian Rafael Cabrales and Diego Alberto Naranjo, by 2 - 0 (21/6 and 21/14). In the same Pool, Costa Rican Araya and Guevara beat the Argentine Perez and Suarez by 2 - 1 (13/21, 21/19 e 15/11).
In Pool B, Cuban players Alvarez and Munder defeated Nicaraguan Calderon and Castro by 2 - 0 (21/8 e 21/12). In another game of the same Pool, Uruguayan Dalmas and Zanotta also started up as winners, they had a come back victory over Salvadoran Medrano and Vargas, they won by 2 - 1 (17/21, 21/14 and 15/7). The beach volleyball games took place at the Copacabana Arena.
In Pool C, American players Stolfus and Loomis beat Ecuadorian Maldonado and Bardalos by 2 - 0 (21/9 and 21/16). Venezuelan Henrique and Hernandez had a tight victory over Gil and Acosta from Puerto Rico they won by 2-1 (21/17, 19/21 and 18/16).
In the Women's volleyball tournament, in Pool F, Cuban players Fernandez and Larrea crushed Joseph e Phillp's Trinidad and Tobago team, by 2 - 0 (21/8 and 21/8). Mena and Hernandez, from Ecuador, also had an easy victory and defeated Nicaraguan Guandique and Hostran by 2 - 0 (21/5 and 21/6).
In Pool G, Canadian players Maxwell and Lessard beat Colombian Galindo and Galindo by 2 - 0 (21/4 e 21/13), finishing the game with the same score as Costa Rican Alfaro and Morales who beat Argentine Evangelista and Ortiz, with partials of 21/18 and 21/17.
