Granma daily newspaper presented its new website Monday dedicated to the July 13-29 Pan American Games to take place in Rio de Janeiro.

Vice President Jose Ramon Fernandez, who heads the islands Olympic Committee, was on hand for the unveiling of the website.

Fernandez praised the papers effort to provide complete coverage on the Rio Games. "I am convinced that the users of the site will find accurate and up to date information on the development of the 15th Pan American Games, and especially the performance of our delegation."

The website includes interesting materials and abundant information on the history of the continental sports event put together in the data base section by journalist Enrique Montesinos, author of the most complete compilation about the Pan American Games. His book Pan American Games: from Buenos Aires-1951 to Santa Domingo-2003 has just been published in time for the Rio Games.
