Wynton Marsalis-led NY jazz band to travel to Cuba

<p style="text-align: justify;">AP. Fri Sep 10, 5:54 am ET. NEW YORK – New York City's Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is traveling to Cuba next month for a series of concerts in Havana with bandleader Wynton Marsalis. The trip will be the first for the jazz band. The ensemble will perform several concerts from Oct. 5 to 9. Later in the month Jazz at Lincoln Center will produce the Afro-Cuban Jazz Celebration, featuring concerts in New York City. Marsalis says he "can't wait" for the chance to play in Cuba. Read More

Cuban-Venezuelan Oil Refinery Yielded 55 Million Barrels

<p style="text-align: justify;">CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Sept 9 (acn) A refinery operated by Cuban and Venezuelan oil companies in Cienfuegos has processed more than 55 million barrels of crude since January 2008, when the plant resumed operations. Company’s executives made the announcement during a visit to the CUVENPETROL S.A. joint venture of Cuban vice president Ramiro Valdes accompanied by vice president of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas and the minister of Basic Industry Yadira Garcia, reported Prensa Latina.
