Cuban reggaeton artist Yosvani Arismín Sierra Hernández, better known as Chocolate MC, was taken into custody on April 27 in Miami-Dade County after evading authorities for several days despite having active arrest warrants against him.

According to the police report, Chocolate MC is facing a series of charges, including burglary of an unoccupied residence, possession of controlled substances such as crack, criminal mischief, drug possession and paraphernalia intended for consumption, as well as written threats to kill or cause bodily harm, illegal use of a communication device, and an additional assault charge outside the county.

The arrest came shortly after the rapper publicly challenged law enforcement to find him, which heightened media scrutiny regarding his legal troubles. Journalist Mario Vallejo recently reported that Sierra Hernández had active warrants in three Florida counties: Miami-Dade, Escambia, and Pasco, along with an additional warrant in the state of Texas.

The reggaeton star mocked the Miami-Dade police on Instagram, calling them corrupt. "Miami-Dade Police, do your job, stop focusing on social media and the news, you bunch of corrupt officials," he posted in his stories while lounging by a pool.

Chocolate MC, a controversial figure in the Cuban urban music scene, has had several run-ins with the law in the United States and has spent time in jail on multiple occasions. This has led many to question why, given his criminal history in the country, he has not been deported back to Cuba.
