Diana and Acteon
A most expected momentum of the 20th International Ballet Festival of Havana is seeing central figures of Cuba's Ballet Company BNC on stage; Viengsay Valdés and Carlos Acosta dance the Pas de deux of ballet Diana and Acteón in García Lorca hall of the Gran Teatro de la Habana.

It features Alicia Alonso's choreography version on A. Vagánova's original ballet with music by Riccardo Drigo. The Pas de deux of Diana Acteón is based on Esmeralda ballet (1844) by Jules Perrot inspired by Víctor Hugo's novel Nuestra Señora de París, (Notre Dame de Paris) and music by Cesare Pugni.

In 1886, Marius Petipa produced a new version with music by Drigo, who added some dances such as the said pas de deux showing rivalry in hunting among best known mythological figures.

Famous partners Viengsay Valdés and Carlos Acosta certainly delight both viewers and critics with their virtuosité et talent.
