Sources of the company informed that on the 19th, 20th and 21st of December the Lizt Alfonso Ballet – with its Musical Group, its Youth and Children Ballet and its Vocational Workshop – will present a Concert Program for the end of the year at the Garcia Lorca Hall of the Gran Teatro de La Habana.
This Ballet was created by its director and choreographer Lizt Alfonso in October 1991 in the Centro de Promoción de la Danza de Cuba (Centre for Promotion of Dance in Cuba), under the name of "Danzas Ibéricas".
In October 1992, it was declared as an independent company, assuming its current name and in October 2000 becomes a resident company of the Gran Teatro de La Habana.
Its main objective is to offer the public a pleasant and dynamic show, based in the fusion of the rich dances that made up the Cuban and Spanish folklore, combined with current techniques of the choreographic, musical and theatre composition.
Elegance and artistic rigor characterize its pieces, which excellence and its particular way of Cuban dancing makes them a truly unique ones.
