The twenty two members of the children’s company, who traveled to Turkey, were received when they arrived at the airport by representatives from the embassy and members of the friendship with Cuba organization in that country.
The group directed by Juan Carlos Cremata will undertake other activities aiming to strengthen the links with the friends of Cuba in Turkey, together with the works that they will present at the festival.
In this way, together with the Tales of Andersen and Cindirella according to the Beatles, with which they are to participate in the official competition, there is also expected a tribute to the poet Nazim Hikmet, one of the most important ones in Turkish literature, as well as encounters and workshops.
La Colmenita believes they will have a good performance during the festival, organized by the Ministry for Culture from Turkey, and where twenty-one groups will participate representing ten countries.
Afterwards, the company will travel to Istanbul where they will perform in two theaters on May 3 and 4 and they will also perform the already mentioned tribute to Nazim Hikmet in the cultural center of that same name, in the Asian part of the city.
