Cuba promotes tourist attractions in Argentina

Argentina hosted a fair to promote Cuba's tourist attractions, as part of the Caribbean Island's efforts to increase tourist arrivals.

Cuba's Tourist Caravan in Argentina was held here under the auspices of the Cuban Tourism Ministry and the local company Ola.

The initiative included promotional campaigns in the cities of Córdoba, Rosario and Buenos Aires, where Cuba's options for the summer season were promoted.

The Cuban delegation was made up of experts from Cubana de Aviación, Gran Caribe, Cubanacán, Gaviota, Isla Azul, Cubatur, Viajes Cubanacán, Sol Meliá, Iberostar and Blau.

For its part, Ola said that starting in January 2008, it will operate a Córdoba-Rosario-Havana flight that will make it easier for Argentine tourists to travel to Cuba.

Last year, 30,300 Argentine travelers visited Cuba, accounting for a 20-percent increase compared to 2005
