International Athletics Federation
Cuba will have a High-Performance Center of the International Athletics Federation, as part of the Caribbean Island's efforts to develop that sport.

The facility, to be located in the Cuban capital and directed by Jesús Molina, will have Dayron Robles (110-meter hurdles) and Yordanis García (decathlon) as its first students.

Other participants will come from Argentina and Trinidad and Tobago.

The International Athletics Federation has opened similar centers in Kenya, Malaysia, Dakar, Jamaica, Mauricio Islands, New Zealand and Brazil, all of which have already made achievements.

A score of high-performance athletes are expected to train in Havana under the guidance of the technical head of the Cuban federation, Santiago Antúnez, in the 110-meter hurdles, Eladio Hernández in the hammer, Milán Matos in the long jump, Dionisio Quinta in the javelin, and Hermes Riverí in the discus and the shot-put.

The high-performance center is an excellent opportunity to train and develop world-class athletes under the supervision of the international ruling body in athletics.
