The Cup of Nations Boxing tournament kicks off Sunday with the match between Cuba and Kazakhstan, as part of Group A, completed by Azerbaidzhan and the United States.

The Kazakh team was still not complete and although managers advanced they would do without several stars, this team is known for its strength and hard practice, making it one of the most solid opponents for the Cuban squad.

However, Cuban boxers and trainers insisted they were not worried over the level of the eliminatory group, much more demanding than group B, formed by Russia, China, Ukraine and Africa.

The target is to win every fight, said coach Sarbelio Fuentes, right after the inaugural ceremony, where fate was set for each team, after Cuba and Russia were invested as leaders of both eliminatory groups.

Tournament rules approved say leaders of both groups should alternate their presentations. On Monday, Russia-China will face Ukraine-Africa and on Wednesday, Russia-Ukraine will confront China-Africa, while on Friday, Russia-Africa will meet China-Ukraine.

On Saturday, leaders of each group will go for the crown in the only program for that date, because there will not be any third place.

Experts do not expect any other closing than the match Cuba-Russia and remember this would repeat the encounter of the World Cup Moscow 2005, when the home club kept the crown before stepping down at the World Championship of Mianyang.
