Cuba develops vaccines against asthma

Cuba's health system has developed vaccines against asthma, as part of programs to counter that ailment.
The vaccines mitigate the clinical symptoms of asthma by up to 30 percent, in addition to reducing the administration of conventional drugs.
The vaccines are administered in specialized allergy services in hospitals throughout the country, so that option is available at the primary care level.
Studies show that 36 percent of the Cuban population is allergic, while in children and adolescents, that indicator increases to 56 percent, thus the importance of these kinds of initiatives.
Allergies are considered an epidemic of modern society and often raise debates, as they are linked to environmental pollution.
