The Cuban comedian Cuqui La Mora confirmed on Saturday that her upcoming show in Michigan will proceed as planned on November 21. This announcement was made in a short video on Facebook, where her phrase "That's what I hope" encapsulates the uncertainty surrounding her schedule after a week marked by two consecutive cancellations.
"Just stopping by quickly to remind you that we'll see each other in Michigan with the Oasis project on November 21," the artist shared in her Facebook video.
On November 5, two of her performances were unexpectedly called off. Some social media users linked these cancellations to the comedian's political stance.
La Cubanita restaurant in Odessa, Texas, canceled the scheduled show for November 8 through a Facebook statement, explicitly denying any political motivations.
"The cancellation of the event is not due to the artist's political preferences nor does it reflect any rejection of her personal opinions. It was a business decision based on evaluating the conditions and commercial viability of the presentation," the statement explained.
On the same day, Expo Cubaneo Arizona 2026 canceled her performance in Phoenix, which was set for November 7, without providing any reason, issuing a brief message on Instagram.
"We announce that Cuquita La Mora's show is canceled. However, Expo Cubaneo Arizona 2026 will continue as planned," read the message.
Days before the cancellations, Cuqui La Mora—whose real name is Aleanis Jáuregui—posted a video expressing her excitement about voting for the first time as an American citizen, a citizenship she acquired in March 2025, and openly declared, "Here you have one more Republican."
The cancellations occurred just two days after the legislative elections on November 3, where Democrats achieved a historic victory by regaining control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, a result seen as a strong rebuke to Trump's administration.
Although none of the organizers who canceled have officially confirmed political motivations, the timing and the comedian's public stance continue to fuel debate. The Michigan show on November 21 remains, for now, the only one of her November commitments still scheduled to go ahead.
