The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Monday that three Cuban nationals have been added to its "Worst of the Worst" list, a periodic release by the Trump administration highlighting arrests of undocumented immigrants with severe criminal backgrounds.
These three individuals are part of a group of 15 apprehended over the weekend by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers across various states, alongside individuals convicted of crimes and other offenses.
Alexander Perez-Gonzalez, identified as Cuban, was arrested in Tucson, Arizona. He has accumulated convictions for assault, four counts of driving under the influence, and property damage.
Rolando Torres-Vega, another Cuban national, was detained in Miami, Florida. His criminal record includes arson and burglary.
Miami-Dade County records indicate that Torres-Vega, aged 61, had already been arrested in late September for driving with a suspended license and possessing a license plate not assigned to the vehicle, with an active immigration hold since then.
The third Cuban, Andrey Aleman-Cordero, was taken into custody in Hialeah, Florida, with a conviction for amphetamine trafficking.
According to court records made available by Noticias Miami Dade, Aleman-Cordero, 47, was admitted to a Florida detention center on October 8 after violating his probation conditions. Besides his amphetamine trafficking conviction, he faces additional charges for the sale, distribution, and possession of cocaine, amphetamines, and cannabis, drug trafficking with firearms, and maintaining a premises intended for drug trafficking. His immigration detainer is pending bond determination, while his probation order remains without the right to bond.
Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin signed the official statement, commending ICE agents for working "tirelessly" over the weekend. "While Americans enjoyed their weekend, the brave patriots of ICE worked nonstop to arrest and deport illegal aliens from our communities, including murderers," he stated.
The "Worst of the Worst" campaign is part of the "Defend the Homeland" program, launched by DHS in July 2025, aimed at publicizing arrests of undocumented immigrants with criminal histories and recruiting new agents for ICE.
Since the beginning of 2026, several Cubans have appeared on these lists for offenses ranging from homicide to sexual crimes against minors, drug trafficking, and violent crimes. In August, ICE included another Cuban for a sexual offense against a minor, and last week, a Cuban was highlighted among the most severe cases of immigrants arrested in Iowa.
