A group of Cuban entrepreneurs residing in Peru has officially launched TikarySis ERP, an enterprise resource planning system tailored for small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses. The event took place at the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), highlighting their innovative efforts.
Held in the Rómulo Ferrero D. Room of one of Peru's most prestigious institutions, which boasts over 10,000 member companies, the launch garnered significant institutional attention.
The event featured a collaborative session with Peruvian entrepreneurs from various sectors and provided a platform for discussing potential business opportunities.
Carlos Ríos, the driving force behind the event in Peru, explained to CiberCuba the core benefits of TikarySis: "We are demonstrating how TikarySis can reveal actual costs, streamline processes, and enhance decision-making for Peruvian businesses."
The system offers four key metrics: 100% awareness of real costs before quoting, recovery of up to 18% in losses, 360° traceability from recipe to invoice, and direct electronic integration with SUNAT, Peru's tax authority.
Targeted Industries and Unique Features
TikarySis focuses on three main sectors: processed food and beverages, footwear and leather, and general manufacturing industries.
For the food sector, it provides real-time costing of ingredients down to the gram or milliliter and batch expiration control. In footwear, it offers minimum stock alerts and instant issuance of tax receipts. Manufacturing benefits from a multi-warehouse management module and a client management system that converts quotes into production orders.
Companies like Manitex/Mantinni, Ciber, and JJC attended the event, while Grupo Cárdenas Corporation EIRL, Grupo Metalic, and JJC Computer SAC are already active users of the system.
Positive Reception and Broader Implications
The reception was overwhelmingly positive. Ríos noted, "Several attendees approached us after the event, expressing interest in consultancy and purchasing the software."
An attendee of note was a government official responsible for Peru's pharmaceutical product legislation, who also showed interest in the platform.
Ríos highlighted a critical insight regarding the project's origins: "I don't know why in Cuba, ERPs are controlled solely by the government... It's abnormal."
This observation underscores a challenging reality for Cuban entrepreneurs, as access to modern business management tools is restricted by the government, leaving private enterprises without equivalent resources.
The launch coincided with Peru Tech Week 2026, held from October 12 to 18 in Lima, a period of heightened activity in the capital's innovation ecosystem.
Competitive Landscape and Cuban Innovation Abroad
The ERP market for small and medium-sized businesses in Peru is competitive, with established local solutions like INSI ERP, ACSOFT ERP, and OPTIMA, available from 50 soles per month.
The TikarySis case highlights a growing trend of internationally-focused Cuban entrepreneurs developing technological solutions from abroad, driven by the restrictive economic system that limits private sector growth on the island.
