A 30-year-old Cuban man, who suffered an attack with an iron rod in Milan, Italy, told the police that he had previously stepped in to defend a young woman being harassed by the man he identified as his assailant, as reported by the Italian newspaper Il Giorno.
"Perhaps he recognized me," the Cuban speculated, suggesting a possible connection between that encounter and the subsequent assault.
The victim recounted that he was at a bus stop for line 90 when he saw a man approaching with a metal rod in hand.
The attacker struck him, initially targeting his hand and then his head and other parts of his body.
