In a recent open poll by CiberCuba, aimed specifically at Cubans holding Spanish citizenship, the political parties PSOE and Vox emerged as the leading preferences. This poll was simultaneously conducted across X, Facebook, and CiberCuba's WhatsApp channel.

Survey Question and Participation

The poll posed a straightforward question to its audience: "If you are Cuban and hold Spanish nationality, which party do you plan to vote for in the upcoming general elections on November 29th?" By the time of reporting, the poll had gathered 1,225 responses, and these numbers are expected to fluctuate as the poll remains open.

Participants self-identified as part of the Cuban-Spanish community, as CiberCuba did not verify the Spanish nationality or electoral registration of any respondent. PSOE and Vox were the most selected options, with PSOE obtaining 396 votes, accounting for 32.3% of the total, while Vox trailed closely with 350 votes, or 28.6%.

Diverse Voting Intentions

In addition to the leading parties, the Partido Popular (PP) received 177 votes (14.4%), followed by those who expressed no intention to vote, tallying at 158 votes (12.9%). Other responses included those undecided (74 votes, 6.0%), other parties (33 votes, 2.7%), Sumar (21 votes, 1.7%), and Podemos (16 votes, 1.3%).

Interpreting the results requires caution as this poll is not a scientific survey but a voluntary participation exercise among CiberCuba's audience across three different platforms.

WhatsApp Dominates Response Volume

The majority of responses came from WhatsApp, with 859 of the total 1,225 responses, roughly 70.1%. Most of these participants are based in Cuba, reflecting a significant portion of the audience despite the poll's focus on those with Spanish nationality.

On WhatsApp, PSOE led with 343 votes (39.9%), followed by those not planning to vote (156 votes, 18.2%), and Vox (126 votes, 14.7%).

Vox Leads on X and Facebook

The landscape differed on X, where 196 votes were recorded. Vox led significantly with 130 votes (66.3%), followed by the PP with 33 votes (16.8%) and PSOE with 21 votes (10.7%). Notably, X's platform limitations restricted the number of options available to respondents.

On Facebook, Vox again topped the chart with 94 votes (55.3%), while PSOE and PP were nearly tied, receiving 32 votes (18.8%) and 31 votes (18.2%), respectively.

Upcoming General Elections

Spain is set to hold its general elections on November 29, 2026, following the early dissolution of its legislative houses. This election carries particular significance for the Cuban community due to the large number of Cubans holding or recently acquiring Spanish citizenship.

CiberCuba has also provided a guide on voting from Cuba, discussing the Electoral Census of Absent Residents (CERA) and the implications for those who gained citizenship through the Law of Democratic Memory.

The ongoing political and judicial debates in Spain regarding the "Law of Grandchildren" continue to impact Cuban voters, with CiberCuba offering updates on these developments.

Polls Remain Open

The findings reported here reflect the situation at the time of writing, with the polls still open across X, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Subsequent participation may alter the percentages and total response counts.
