A malfunction in the pipeline supplying Havana's manufactured gas plants will leave seven municipalities in the capital without service starting at 10:00 p.m. this Sunday, extending into Monday morning, as reported by local authorities.
The affected municipalities include Plaza de la Revolución, Habana Vieja, Centro Habana, 10 de Octubre, Cerro, Playa, and Marianao, according to a statement from the Manufactured Gas Company released by CUPET.

"Due to an unforeseen issue in the pipeline transporting raw materials to the production plants, an intervention is necessary to resolve it," the company explained.
The gas interruption will commence at 10:00 p.m., affecting both of the capital's manufactured gas distribution networks.
The company assured that once the repairs are completed, the service will be gradually restored, although no specific time has been provided for when normal operations will resume.
Service Disruptions Follow Recent Fire Incident
This latest disruption comes shortly after CUPET announced the restoration of service to customers affected by a fire on Saturday on Tulipán Street in Plaza de la Revolución.
The fire happened while a crew was conducting excavation work with heavy machinery to fix another issue, resulting in injuries to six workers. According to the latest update from CUPET, four workers have returned home, while two remain hospitalized under observation but are not in life-threatening conditions.
Recurring Gas Supply Issues Stir Public Frustration
Gas interruptions have become a recurring issue in Havana over the past few months. On August 10, a failure at the Canasí collection center impacted these same seven municipalities.
Just days earlier, on July 30, authorities had announced a total cutoff for maintenance and calibration work. More disruptions were recorded on September 18 due to insufficient natural gas to maintain necessary pressure levels.
