A tragic accident on Thursday along the Bartolomé Masó highway near Cujabo in Granma province claimed the life of a 44-year-old woman and left seven others injured.

Yudelkis Ortiz, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Granma, shared on Facebook that the deceased was identified as Leticia Pérez González.

Ortiz elaborated that the seven individuals involved in the accident were in stable condition at the time of the report and were receiving medical care across various provincial facilities.

The injured were transported to the Río Yara Polyclinic in Bartolomé Masó, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Hospital, and Celia Sánchez Manduley Hospital in Manzanillo.

Ortiz mentioned that she visited the accident site, where paramedics, officials from the Ministry of the Interior, and bystanders were present.

Additionally, she reported visiting the home of the deceased to offer her condolences to the bereaved family.

The accident's causes are still under investigation, and further details about the incident's circumstances have yet to be released.
