Adamari López recently took to social media to address concerns after appearing with a noticeably red right eye. Before rumors could spread, the Puerto Rican host shared her experience with her trademark calmness and humor.
In a video uploaded to Facebook, which quickly garnered over 649,000 views, López explained, "I started feeling an itch in my eye, scratched it, and it hurt. When I looked, I noticed a small bruise that has since grown larger."
As time went on, the initial small spot expanded, covering nearly the entire visible part of her eye. Adamari didn't hesitate and sought medical attention promptly.
Doctors diagnosed her with a subconjunctival hemorrhage, a benign condition where a small blood vessel beneath the conjunctiva breaks. It neither impairs vision nor typically causes pain, and it usually resolves on its own within one to two weeks.
"As the evening wore on, it spread across my entire eye. I went to the doctor, and it seems to be a hemorrhage," López explained.
Adamari was eager to reassure her followers, especially since she knew they would see her on-camera with the condition during her show Desiguales on Univision. "I'm okay! It's just an eye hemorrhage, but the doctor assured me I'll be fine. I'm sharing this because I know you'll see me on the show, and I don't want you to worry," she wrote alongside the video.
She emphasized that this incident wouldn't disrupt her work or daily routine. She plans to continue appearing on-screen with the red eye as her body naturally absorbs the blood.
"It's nothing serious, just a hemorrhage. I expect to have it for about two weeks, as I've been told," she said, maintaining her characteristic composure, and ended the video with kisses and a heartfelt "I love you" to her audience.
Fans of Adamari, familiar with her past health battles—having overcome breast cancer in 2005—often react with concern to any unusual physical signs. However, this time, the presenter managed to quell worries before they escalated.
