"I'm back in Cuba!!! The greatest joy in life is returning to the homeland, the largest of the Antilles, the Caribbean's Caiman," the artist wrote, without specifying which country he was returning from.
In his post, Arnaldo acknowledged the island's material shortages but downplayed them: "Back to the Island, where not everything material I might need is present. But it's where everything essential for happiness exists."
The post quickly attracted a wave of critical comments pointing out the contrast between his message and the reality faced by ordinary Cubans.
"Sure, you have the privilege of coming and going as you please. Anyone would love their country like that," one user sarcastically noted, referencing the travel privileges enjoyed by regime-friendly figures, which most Cubans lack.
Another commenter reminded him of his past statements supporting the government: "You asked so much for the little light not to go out; now enjoy the eternal blackouts."

The Irony of Returning Amidst Crisis
Arnaldo's return occurs amid a severe energy and economic crisis in Cuba, with prolonged blackouts affecting the population. The irony wasn't lost: the same musician who in March 2026 called Morón protesters "antisocials" and "rabble" for demonstrating against blackouts and economic hardship, now celebrates his return to the island as if it were a paradise.
Since 2023, Arnaldo Rodríguez has served as a deputy in the National Assembly of People's Power representing Morón, Ciego de Ávila, despite residing in Havana.
