Cuban Players Dominate the American League: Vargas, Yordan, and Randy Lead in Runs Scored

In a remarkable display of talent, Miguel Vargas, Yordan Álvarez, and Randy Arozarena occupy the top three positions in runs scored in the American League, highlighting Cuban players' dominance during the current Major League Baseball season.

According to figures shared by Pelota Cubana USA on Facebook, "the top three spots belong to Cuban players," with Vargas leading the league with 93 runs, followed by Álvarez with 92, and Arozarena with 89.

Álvarez notched his 92nd run on Thursday in the Houston Astros' matchup against the White Sox. The designated hitter from Las Tunas is having a stellar season, boasting a .316 average, 37 home runs, 94 RBIs, and an OPS of 1.035, placing him in contention for the Triple Crown.

Vargas, the Chicago White Sox's third baseman, is making franchise history with a standout season: he holds a .251 average, has hit 29 home runs, driven in 76 RBIs, and has an OPS of .847 over 139 games. His exceptional performance earned him a spot in the 2026 All-Star Game.

Arozarena, now a Mexican national, completes the top trio with the Seattle Mariners, having scored 89 runs in 123 games. He also made history as the first Cuban player to achieve six consecutive MLB seasons with at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases.

The Cuban impact isn't limited to the podium: Cuban-American Zach Neto from the Los Angeles Angels ranks fourth with 88 runs, while Yandy Díaz, the first baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays, is also in the top ten with 80 runs.
