A Cuban citizen, identified as Jesús Moisés "N," was taken into custody this past Sunday in Cancun. Authorities from Quintana Roo reported that he was found with more than 100 doses of suspected narcotics and 1,420 Mexican pesos in bills that appeared to be counterfeit.

The arrest took place on 8th Street in the Benito Juárez municipality during an operation carried out by the Orión Group. This operation was coordinated with the National Defense, the Navy, and the National Guard, according to the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Quintana Roo.

Official reports indicate that officers spotted the Cuban handling small bags containing a plant substance resembling marijuana, prompting them to conduct a search.

The authorities seized 77 doses of what is believed to be marijuana and 25 doses of suspected crystal meth, totaling 102 doses.

Additionally, they confiscated 1,420 Mexican pesos in various denominations, suspected to be counterfeit.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security also stated that Jesús Moisés "N" is "connected to commercial thefts and is accused of using allegedly fake money." However, the authorities did not provide further details about these incidents or clarify if there are any prior charges against him.

The detainee and the confiscated items have been handed over to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Drug Trafficking Crimes in Quintana Roo, which will determine his legal status.
