A 51-year-old Cuban woman who had been missing in Grenada since Saturday, August 15, was discovered in a hospital and is reportedly in good health, according to updates shared by those close to her on social media.

Katia Robaina Rodrigo became the subject of an alert on Facebook, initiated by a user named Ana Augustine. Augustine requested assistance in locating her and confirmed that a report had been filed with the police.

"Help is needed to find Katia Robaina Rodrigo, a 51-year-old Cuban national missing since Saturday, August 15, 2026. A police report has been filed, and there are concerns that the authorities are not taking adequate action," the post emphasized.

The alert included a photograph of Robaina and a phone number for anyone with information on her whereabouts to come forward.

However, just hours later, the much-anticipated news arrived for family and friends.

A user by the name of Dayron Robaina announced: "She has been found; she is in the hospital."

Another user, Mago Randy Almeida, confirmed shortly after that the woman was safe: "She was found in the hospital and is doing well. Thank you all for your concern."

Details surrounding how Robaina ended up in the hospital or why she lost contact with her circle since Saturday were not disclosed.

The original alert remained online even after it was confirmed she was found, leading to criticisms about the risk of spreading outdated information.

"Now that she has been found in the hospital, why not remove the post? This only causes misinformation and panic," questioned one user.

Weeks before Robaina's temporary disappearance, another case had stirred anxiety on the island. Elizabeth Waddell, a 44-year-old American from North Carolina, was last seen on July 22 at Grand Anse Beach. Her disappearance sparked a significant search operation and international media attention.

In Katia Robaina's case, the social media mobilization culminated in a reassuring outcome: the Cuban woman was found alive and, according to those reporting her discovery, was in good condition at the hospital.
