Monday, August 17, 2026 by Oscar Fernandez

This past weekend, the Kaseya Center in Miami buzzed with excitement as Gente de Zona and Marc Anthony delivered a rousing rendition of "La Gozadera." The performance became a highlight of a charity concert aimed at raising funds for those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia.

The event, broadcasted live on TelevisaUnivision and iHeartLatino, brought together over 30 Latin artists in a show where all advertising revenue was dedicated to humanitarian aid.

The Cuban duo, comprised of Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcom, joined the benefit concert with a heartfelt message of support that touched both the audience present and viewers at home.

"I’m thrilled to be here. I think it's a time for us to unite, a time to put our hands on our hearts," Alexander expressed to VixMusica’s cameras.

They emphasized the scope of the initiative, noting, "We know this doesn't completely solve the problems, but we urge everyone to unite and help all the families suffering from this disaster."

Randy Malcom further highlighted their connection to the affected nations, stating, "We feel very close to these two countries, Colombia and Venezuela. Whenever we can contribute, count on Gente de Zona to always be there."

The concert, titled "Unidos por los Nuestros," was organized by TelevisaUnivision, CMN, Maestro Cares Foundation, and PIMIENTO Entertainment. It featured artists like Chayanne, Feid, Luis Fonsi, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Olga Tañón, Silvestre Dangond, Camilo, and Evaluna, among others. Hosts included Adamari López, Don Francisco, Dayanara Torres, and Mariana Atencio.

This event emerged as a response to two significant catastrophes. On June 24, a dual earthquake hit Venezuela, resulting in over 6,300 fatalities. Shortly after, a 7.4 magnitude quake struck Colombia, leading to dozens of deaths, thousands of injuries, and hundreds of missing persons.

Initially called "Unidos por Venezuela," the telethon expanded its mission to include Colombian victims due to the extent of the second disaster.
