Nicky Jam's Private Jet Brings Aid to Earthquake-Stricken Colombia

Friday, August 14, 2026 by Christopher Ramirez

Puerto Rican singer Nicky Jam has once again utilized his private jet for humanitarian purposes, this time delivering much-needed supplies to Quibdó, Chocó, one of the hardest-hit areas by the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that rocked Colombia on August 10.

An Instagram story shared from Quibdó reveals the aircraft's interior crowded with boxes, Pampers diaper packages, and various bags, as personnel in orange vests organize the materials onboard. This gesture precedes the artist's announcement, alongside Grupo Empresarial Argos, of the "Adopt a Home" campaign aimed at rebuilding homes in the most affected regions.

This is not the first time Nicky Jam has used his jet for disaster response. In July, he lent the aircraft to send aid to Venezuela following the June 24 earthquakes. At that time, he stated, "I am lending my plane to deliver supplies to Venezuela," promising it wouldn't be the only trip.

Tragic Earthquake and Its Impact

The Colombian quake occurred at 7:34 a.m., resulting in a disaster of historic proportions. The initial victim count of 74 quickly rose to over 240 fatalities, according to later reports, with thousands injured or missing in Chocó, the Coffee Axis, and Valle del Cauca.

In response to this devastation, Nicky Jam partnered with Grupo Argos to launch "Adopt a Home," starting with an initial donation of 13 billion Colombian pesos—approximately 3.2 million dollars—aimed at repairing and rebuilding homes in the most severely damaged areas.

Collaborative Effort for Reconstruction

The campaign operates on a matched donation model: for every peso donated by citizens or companies, Grupo Argos and Nicky Jam will contribute another, with the aim of reaching a total fund of 26 billion pesos. The alliance was born from a phone call between the singer and Juan Esteban Calle, president of the conglomerate.

Nicky Jam publicly called on other artists and public figures to join the cause, invoking his personal connection to the nation where he revitalized his career from 2007 to 2010: "Colombia, my people, my heart is with you. To all the artists, to everyone who can join, I'm reaching out: let's adopt homes, let's be there for those losing everything in this tragedy. Together we can do more. Colombia is not alone."
