Pigott associated these findings with the Ministerial Conference on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism, held on July 16 at the State Department with delegates from over 60 nations.
During the conference, Rubio contended that extreme leftist political terrorism is now responsible for more anti-government plots and attacks in the U.S. than any other ideology.
"Extreme leftist political terrorism is now on par with jihadist terrorism in terms of attacks in Europe," Pigott warned, emphasizing that Washington is treating the issue with the utmost seriousness.
The State Department has already designated four violent far-left groups as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists, with more designations currently under review.
