Cuban comedian Limay Blanco has come forward to reveal that he is under surveillance and facing harassment while continuing his charitable efforts of preparing meals for over 100 vulnerable individuals at his home, as part of the "Christ Changes Lives" ministry.
In a video shared on his Instagram account, Limay described how his neighbors informed him of an unsettling situation as he was leaving his house, despite being unwell, to deliver donations to a young woman with special needs.
"As I was leaving, some neighbors called me to say there were four people on the block investigating about me, how I behave, and what the workers do in the kitchen..."
Limay also highlighted orchestrated attacks on social media, which he believes are conducted by individuals within Cuba, potentially hired to discredit his efforts.
"These attacks also come through social media. I know these criticisms are not from the U.S. or outside. They are from Cuba. I realize because, for instance, one person comments at 2:00 p.m., and by 2:05, another responds. It's like a team dedicated to discrediting."
Despite the pressure, Limay asserted that he will not halt his mission, emphasizing that the project is much larger than himself.
"I want everyone to know that this ministry is not Limay Blanco; it's called Christ Changes Lives. It's not mine; this is God's work."
Last week, his kitchen served 115 individuals, with a record of 160 meals distributed in a single day. The initiative is funded by donations from supporters both inside and outside of Cuba, along with the efforts of his family and volunteers.
The scrutiny in his neighborhood came at a particularly challenging time for Limay and his family. He recorded the video while suffering from diarrhea, vomiting, and fever, and his wife was also ill.
Nevertheless, Limay urged those attacking him on social media to watch the video until the end, as he had something much more meaningful to share. "We will continue doing good."
He showcased direct assistance to a woman named Kenia, to whom he provided an EcoFlow battery and solar panel, along with a rechargeable fan, to help alleviate the prolonged power outages affecting her.
The young woman is in a critical situation, facing physical and mental disabilities. She received support from Limay's followers to improve her quality of life.
"Christ Changes Lives" has been engaged in charitable work for six years, delivering over 40 homes to vulnerable families in Cuba.
This is not the first time Limay has faced governmental pressure. In 2024, he requested Cuban authorities to legalize his humanitarian initiative.
